Working in a Multicultural Business Community

The Pacific Northwest has a very culturally diverse business community. People from all around the world, and many cultures, operate businesses here. In King County alone, the minority owned business statistics are:

  • Asians - 9.57%
  • African Americans - 2.33%
  • Hispanics or Latinos - 2.02%
  • American Indians & Alaska Natives - .92%
  • Pacific Islanders - .15%
  • Other - 85.01%

Come discover the dynamics of multicultural business communications. Learn how to avoid potential “pot holes” and limitations to doing business with those from a culture other than your own. Styles, values, and behaviors have impact on multicultural communication, and could ultimately affect your bottom line.

“When one is doing business or interacting with small business owners from another culture, communication styles vary. We are no longer doing business with the same culture and the same generations – we are doing business with many different cultures, generations, and forms of communications.  The awareness of these key components is the key to future continued success!”
- Lourdes Sampera Tsukada, Conference Chair and founder of Opening Latino Doors, LLC.

What's in it for me?

If you struggle with balancing your day-to-day business activities with finding resources to help you grow and maintain profitability, you are not alone. Many small business owners in the Pacific Northwest need information about the resources available to them. The Multicultural Biz Wiz Conference is the place to be to learn about small business resources and effective cross-cultural communications, while networking with other small businesses and thought leaders in our business community.
